Good idea, Prince Charles. Let's try it on towns as well as on the country
Article Abstract:
Prince Charles's action plan to halt the economic collapse of rural parts of the UK has many parallels with initiatives to tackle inner-city deprivation. It is suggested that many of the problems of the countryside and the inner cities are the same, including the need for economic diversity and for affordable housing.

Article Abstract:
Rapid economic growth in Asia has been admired worldwide over recent years. Indeed, some observers began to claim that Asian values would start to be adopted in the western world. However, views have begun to change since the region started to experience a financial crisis in early Jul 1997. The region's economies are very diverse, but they have all been affected to a greater or lesser extent by the crisis. It is time to abandon the assumption that Asia will continue to see constant strong economic growth. It must be realized that any economic growth will be interspersed with periods of decline.
