The equivocal image
Article Abstract:
An evaluation of the photographic design work of Tom Gray and Zafer Baran is presented. Gray graduated in industrial design and graphic design. The complexity of the images he produces show that they could not have been acheived on computer. He aims to create interest and exitement with environments. Zafer Baran is a more established photographic designer. He uses conventional lenses, but the uniqueness of his designs are a result of the use of light.

Insect mouthparts: ascertaining the paleobiology of insect feeding strategies
Article Abstract:
The evolution of insect mouthparts closely follows the environmental changes occurring over several periods of planetary history. Their geochronological development, driven by food partitioning, includes piercing-and-sucking, fluid- and solid-feeding, fluid and aquatic particle-feeding, and surface-fluid-feeding. This data is important in plotting ecological and phenetic attributes onto baseline phylogenies.

Growing up in a purple haze
Article Abstract:
Pop musicians have traditionally come from humble, working class backgrounds. However, some are now emerging who had a very unusual sort of childhood, having been brought up by hippy parents in the 1970s. They include Kristin Hersh, guitarist and singer with rock group Throwing Muses, Tanya Donelly, who fronts the band Belly, and Courtney Love, leader of the band Hole.
