Grounded?
Article Abstract:
British Airways is likely to reduce transatlantic capacity by at least 20% as a result of the terrorist attacks in the US, with some of its 374 aircraft being grounded. The airline had already announced 1,800 job losses before the attacks, and could now make up to a further 10,000 redundancies.

Oneworld's aim is air supremacy
Article Abstract:
British Airways has linked with Qantas, Cathay Pacific, American Airlines and Canadian Airlines to form the oneworld global airline alliance. The alliance will have a fleet of 1,524 aircraft serving 632 destinations in 138 countries. This will make it a competitor with the Star Alliance, headed by Lufthansa and United Airlines. It will mainly involve code-sharing, but the partners will also be able to share each other's frequent flyer programmes and airport lounges.

Heathrow, we have a problem: can Bob Ayling put the wheels back on British Airways?
Article Abstract:
British Airways Chief Executive Bob Ayling has faced extensive criticism from both inside and outside the airline. However, it is difficult for his critics to identify how he could have managed the airline more effectively. British Airways has largely managed to persuade its critics that its efficiency programme, which has brought savings of 600 million pounds sterling so far, has been necessary to avoid large losses. The airline now plans to focus more on business passengers, and believes that this will boost its revenue per customer by a quarter.
