Holocaust survivor sues Polish government in British courts
Article Abstract:
Peter Koppenheim, a Jew who fled from Breslau, Germany, in Feb 1939 after his family was targeted by the Nazis, is bringing legal action against the Polish government in the UK, as Breslau is now in Poland. He claims that the Polish authorities systematically transferred a great deal of Jewish property to non-Jewish Polish citizens. He believes that this was an element of the Polish government's policy of ethnic cleansing. He hopes to encourage other British Jews whose property was taken by the Polish authorities to come forward.
