IRA puts a bomb under peace talks
Article Abstract:
There is widespread concern about the IRA's announcement that it would have difficulties with the Mitchell principles of non-violence and democracy. These have already been formally accepted by Sinn Fein. This stance seems to provide justification for claims by Unionists that Sinn Fein is not genuine in its commitment to the Mitchell principles. Sinn Fein has taken care to emphasize that it speaks independently of the IRA. Most observers fail to accept that the IRA can reserve its right to return to violence while Sinn Fein adopts a pacifist stance.
