'Investment managers kept in the dark over transfer.' (secretive dealings in Mirror Group pension fund)
Article Abstract:
Kevin Maxwell failed to keep fund managers fully informed about the transfer of various shareholdings into private companies owned by his father, Robert Maxwell. He has defended himself by stating that shares were transferred around the group in complicated stocklending arrangements between all Maxwell operations. He also attributes his actions to the influence of his domineering father. At one stage, shares in Euris, a Paris-based investment trust, were transferred from Bishopsgate Investment Management to Pergamon Holdings without the knowledge of fund managers at Bishopsgate.

Global fraudsters use sea fortress as passport to riches
Article Abstract:
Evidence is emerging that bank and customs officials worldwide have been deceived by fraudsters using fake documents from the Principality of Sealand. The principality, which was found in the 1960s by wealthy businessman Roy Bates, is actually a concrete platform seven miles off the coast of Felixstowe, England. Bates produces his own coins and stamps, but has had no contact at all with the criminals. The forged papers have been used to open bank accounts in eastern Europe, into which the proceeds of illegal pyramid investment schemes have been placed.
