Is there more strength in numbers?
Article Abstract:
There are indications that large-scale consolidation is set to take place among second-tier accountancy firms in the UK. BDO Stoy Hayward and Moores Rowland announced plans in Jan 1999 to join together to form the UK's sixth-largest accountancy firm, and this has been followed by the announcement that Pannell Kerr Forster and Robson Rhodes will merge on May 1, 1999. Accountancy firms are also looking further afield, with Robson Rhodes forming a joint venture based in Brussels, Belgium, in Feb 1999 with firms from Germany, France and Spain.
