Israelis declare pact a victory
Article Abstract:
Israel is representing an agreement with Palestine and the US as a victory, and this view is supported by the Israeli public. The Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu has achieved three objectives. He is more likely to be re-elected, he has changed a previous agreement made in Oslo in 1993 to become more in Israel's favor, and he is able to increase the number of Jewish settlements set up on the West Bank. Israeli settlements are being built at a faster rate on the West Bank since it was captured in 1967.
