The most Russian of them all
Article Abstract:
The music of Sergei Rachmaninov largely fell from favour after his death in 1943. However, there are now indications that his works are enjoying a revival. This is reflected in the major Rachmaninov festival beginning at the Royal Festival Hall in London, England, on May 6, 1999. This festival, entitled 'Hidden Perspectives,' will feature core Rachmaninov works such as the Second Piano Concerto. However, it will also highlight Rachmaninov music which is not very widely known.
