One hand stuck out of snowy waste led rescuers to a miracle in the mountains
Article Abstract:
Rescuers have been able to take three climbers alive off Aonach Mor, near Ben Nevis, Scotland. However, four other climbers perished in the avalanche that hit the party as it climbed at 3,500 ft. The fact that three people survived is regarded as extremely unusual, given the strength of the avalanche. It is thought that their survival is attributable to the fact that they were able to dig airholes in the snow covering them.
