Lady of the house
Article Abstract:
Pamela, Lady Harlech, Chairman of the board of the English National Ballet since 1989, is notorious for bossiness and running the ENB to suit herself. She was previously on the boards of the Womens Playhouse Trust and the V&A, where her professional commitment was admired. Harlech is a decisive, energetic American. She got the entire board to resign when she arrived because they were fighting. The new board sacked artistic director Peter Schaufuss and his replacement Ivan Nagy, who is replaced by Derek Deane.

An invitation to explore a different kind of space
Article Abstract:
Laurie Booth, a choreographer, has worked on a project with architect Nigel Coates bringing together two diametrically opposed styles. Booth works with kinetic space and his staging is minimal whereas Coates's architecture is flambouyant. Together they have worked on 'Requiair,' a requiem involving flight as a theme, with Booth having the freedom to move the design to fit in with the choreography. The production was staged at the South Bank, London.
