There have been many deaths among the ethnic Albanian refugees who fled Kosovo, Yugoslavia, and are now living in primitive conditions in Albania. Many of the refugees are malnourished, and they must also endure exposure to wind and rain. The dead are buried in makeshift graves, as the ethnic Albanians hope to be able to return the bodies to Kosovo eventually. In Kukes, Albania, 53 refugees have been buried in recent weeks.
