Article Abstract:
Pharmacists Kelly Goode and Dennis McCallian have improved their methods for helping asthma patients lead a normal and productive life. Their pharmacy-based disease management approaches were developed based on the findings from the second Expert Panel of the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program that was released in 1997. Goode trains pharmacists at wellness centers in Virginia on how to administer the disease-based pharmaceutical care. McCallian has implemented individualized patient consultations at his Family PharmaCare pharmacy in Indiana.
