Storehouse slides into crisis
Article Abstract:
Shares in retail group Storehouse have declined by 17% to 134.5p, the lowest for six years, as a result of the news that profits did not rise in the six months to Sep 1998. The group continues to see weak sales, and expects that full-year profits will be lower than in 1997. Institutional investors are now seeking to establish whether Storehouse has merely been a victim of general difficulties in the retail industry or whether there are problems with the structure of its board.
