Mayfair gallery sued in 100m pounds sterling battle over the life and legacy of Francis Bacon

The trustees of the estate of artist Francis Bacon are suing Marlborough Fine Art (London), his former gallery, claiming that it defrauded Bacon. It is alleged that Marlborough produced prints without paying Bacon and has not accounted for some of his works.

Luton Crown Court has found Lord Brocket guilty of taking part in a 4.5 million pounds sterling classic-car insurance fraud. Formerly one of the most successful aristocrats, and a friend of the Prince of Wales, he has now been sentenced to five years in prison. He has been made bankrupt, and his marriage to former model Isa Lorenzo has collapsed.
