So is corruption really just a vice of the Latin nations?
Article Abstract:
It is widely believed in northern Europe that corruption is rife in southern Europe. In fact, the current crisis in the European Commission goes against this view. The commissioners from southern Europe have not been guilty of corruption, while some commissioners from northern Europe have been involved in rather dubious practices. It must be recognized that there has been a real change in the morals of public life in southern Europe, and it is clear that prejudices about southern Europe are no longer justified.

Sometimes the facts get in the way of the truth
Article Abstract:
Films which take the form of dramatised documentaries, such as 'Michael Collins,' 'Carla's Song' and 'Some Mother's Son,' are often criticised for not accurately portraying the events to which they refer. This is rather ironic, given that the media has a very poor record of presenting the truth. In a dramatised documentary, individuals and communities must not be ignored, but in some cases the final product may have to be determined by the need to pursue an important dynamic or truth.
