Article Abstract:
EER Systems has worked for many years to ensure that a project to undertake the first private-enterprise, commercial space launch in the US did not fail. The scheme lost its promised funding from Nasa's Office of Commercial Programmes, but is now set to go ahead. The company has a purpose-built launch pad, and has privately financed and developed a rocket which contains a scientific satellite called Multiple Experiment Transporter to Earth Orbit (Meteor).
