Our planet of the apes
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly widely recognized that chimpanzees are intelligent beings with whom humans can communicate and establish meaningful links. Chimpanzees share at least 98.4% of the DNA of humans, and also have in common with humans an enlarged planum temporales. Chimpanzees do not have a voice-box, but have the mental ability required to understand spoken language. Against this background, it is a cause for great concern that chimpanzees are now threatened with extinction.

What really killed Lena Zavaroni?
Article Abstract:
Singer Lena Zavaroni, who became famous at the age of 10, represents an extreme case of the devastating impact of anorexia nervosa, a complex psychological disorder connected with body image. Her case remains unique in many ways, but everybody is under growing pressure to achieve more while looking younger. Her life can be seen as a warning about a culture in which children are under pressure to mature quickly and adults are expected to try to infantilize themselves.
