Out of step
Article Abstract:
The UK's male dancers have expressed concern about Martin Sherman's film 'Indian Summer,' which Channel 4 has recently begun filming. They feel that the film, which tells of a young dancer dying of Aids who falls in love with his male therapist, gives the false impression that all male dancers are gay. They point out that the media in the UK seems unwilling to bring dance to the general public and to admit that most male dancers are not gay. Sherman rejects this view, pointing out that there have been considerable moves recently to give a more balanced view of male dancers.

Article Abstract:
The 15th and 16th century records of Yorkshire, England indicate that a genuine Corpus Christi play cycle was performed there. Documents from the West Riding area support the idea that the manuscript from Towneley is a compilation of plays performed in various communities of Yorkshire. Four probable performance sites are Pontefract, Fountains Abbey, Wakefield and Doncaster.
