P.N. Haksar
Article Abstract:
Diplomat and political advisor Parmeshwar Haksar gained an MSc from Allahabad university in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He studied at the London School of Economics before being called to the Bar from Lincoln's Inn in the early 1940s. He joined the Indian diplomatic service in 1947, serving as ambassador to Nigeria and Austria. He became principal secretary to Indira Gandhi in 1967, and played a key role in negotiating the 1972 Shimla Accord with Pakistan.

Maharaja Madhavrao Scindia
Article Abstract:
Politician Madhavrao Scindia was born in Bombay, India, in 1945. He became the Maharaja of Gwalior at 16. He studied at New College, Oxford, England, and entered parliament as a member of the Hindu nationalist party in 1971.
