Venture to the North for a brave new world
Article Abstract:
Most of the universities in the north of England are in cities or large towns, where there are strong reminders of the region's industrial heritage. However, most are also close to areas of great natural beauty. These universities offer a good base from which to undertake activities such as climbing, and also benefit from the region's strong sporting history. Cities in the north of England also often have good public transport systems and an active nightlife.

Furthermore, these universities can be unattractive and noisy. However, they offer high academic standards and easy access to a wide range of entertainment. This is particularly the case in London, England, where there are many theatres, nightclubs and restaurants. There is also a great deal of entertainment at campus-based universities such as Southampton, England.
