Raising taxes is the wrong way to make people pay more for health
Article Abstract:
Increasing taxes is not the only way to raise additional funds for the UK National Health Service. It is important to consider other types of compulsory public funding, including social insurance. People must be made more aware of how much their medical treatment actually costs, as this would encourage them to pay more in taxes.

You are wrong, Mr Blair - people are not willing to pay more tax
Article Abstract:
The UK government is wrong to claim that ordinary people are willing to pay higher taxes to fund an improved National Health Service (NHS). It is now time to accept that taxes alone will never be sufficient to fund the NHS. There must be some form of private health care provision too.

There is a better way to fund and run our health service
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the funding of the UK National Health Service are discussed. It is argued that continental Europe, where there is a much larger element of private, non-tax, non-compulsory insurance spending, offers a valuable model for the UK.
