Scandinavia is hot. For the moment
Article Abstract:
Norway, Sweden and Finland currently account for 40% of investments made by Morgan Grenfell's European Growth Trust. This fund seeks value investments in continental Europe, and occasionally in the UK too. Manager Peter Young points out that high quality, expanding concerns in Finland, which is particularly attractive, are selling at prices of only seven-eight times 1996's expected earnings. The fund has grown very strong because of its flexible approach.

Hi-tech offers big returns for the bold
Article Abstract:
Technology stocks still have rather unpredictable performance, but the best can bring very good results over time. The top-performing Prolific Technology unit trust, for example, has seen returns quadruple over the five years to the beginning of Sep 1996. Technology is regarded as the western equivalent of emerging markets, offering similar growth potential and risk reward ratios. Volatility is likely to even out over the long term.
