Tories must not let the euro stop them electing the best leader
Article Abstract:
The issue of the euro should not be allowed to totally overshadow the battle between Kenneth Clarke and Iain Duncan Smith for the leadership of the UK Conservative party. It is suggested that Clarke's support for the euro does not mean that he is not the best person to lead the party.

Sorry William, you can never win when you've been branded a loser
Article Abstract:
UK Conservative party leader William Hague has been widely portrayed in the media as a loser, and it seems unlikely that he will ever be able to shake off this image while he remains in his current position. He showed significant political abilities when the Conservative party was in power, but he gained the leadership of the party when he was too inexperienced and when it was unleadable. He must now adjust to life as a loser, and this is likely to have a negative impact on his judgement.
