If Greenspan gets it wrong, Europe will feel the pinch
Article Abstract:
US monetary policy over the next few months will have a significant international impact. For this reason, there is considerable speculation about whether the US Federal Reserve will decide in favour of another rise in interest rates. It now appears that the dollar has begun a downturn, and this means that the speed at which the Federal Reserve boosts interest rates will be very significant for the profile of the dollar decline. Serious weakness in the dollar will have a very negative impact on Europe.
