Stand back and fight
Article Abstract:
White South African writer Nadine Gordimer believes that she does not write herself into her work. However, her women characters often have her characteristics, including being intelligent and forceful. She feels that it would have been impossible for her not to include many of her experiences of life in South Africa in her writing. She regards the new South Africa as being just as violent as the old South Africa, and feels that there is a general acceptance of violence in cities worldwide.
