Sting

British singer Sting was born Gordon Sumner and took his stage name in 1971 after being called it by a band he played with while dressed in yellow and black, looking like a bee. He began his musical career living in a squat with his wife and child but his earnings now have topped 20 million pounds sterling. He is also a solo composer and has produced many modern classics including Roxanne, Don't Stand So Close To Me and Every Breath You Take. He is now 41, married for the second time and has five children. He is particularly interested in environmental and humanitarian causes.

Michael Dobbs, deputy chairman of the Conservative party, has a very positive public image, giving the impression of being open, down-to-earth and likeable. However, beneath the surface can be seen a much more calculating side to his character. He has been associated with the party since 1975, but also spent some time as deputy chairman of advertising agency Saatchi and Saatchi. He also written a number of novels.
