Suicide - not dead yet
Article Abstract:
Techno-primitive duo Suicide, made up of Alan Vega and Martin Rev, can be regarded as one of the foundations of today's burgeoning techno scene. Rev and Vega, who began working together in the early 1970s, were determined to bring rock'n'roll into the future. Their approach was different from that of other New York punk bands, using primitive electronic equipment rather than guitars. They now acknowledge that choosing the name Suicide was a mistake, as it made audiences hostile towards them. Their debut album, 'Suicide,' is being reissued by Blast First Records.

The Day of the Dead is alive
Article Abstract:
There are many signs of traditional culture in the Chiapas uplands near the border between Mexico and Guatemala, even though the region is nominally Catholic. Many ceremonies associated with local culture take place at various times of the year, and visitors should ensure that they show proper respect at these events, particularly in avoiding taking photographs. There is a strong sense of peace in the region, and local people seem to be very much in tune with their ancestors.
