Switching isn't hard to do
Article Abstract:
Many people in the UK are dissatisfied with the level of service they receive from their bank. However, few are willing to go to the trouble of changing to another bank. In fact, it is not really very difficult to switch to a banking service that closely meets your individual requirements. When changing to a different bank, it is important to plan ahead and make the change gradually. The new account should be opened first, and all new facilities should be operational before you transfer your direct debt and bill payments and standing orders.

Not so much a bank as a statement
Article Abstract:
UK banks have considerably improved the standard of their services over recent years, offering facilities such as automatic cheque book and statement requests and Saturday banking. One of the most dramatic developments has been the move towards telephone banking services. Most people do not really need the high level of flexibility offered by telephone banking all the time, but welcome the feeling that they are in control and the fact that they can cut costs by using telephone banking services.

Give me the child
Article Abstract:
UK banks and building societies are increasingly keen to offer accounts aimed at children, as they believe that such accounts may gain them many long-term customers. Interest rates are often quite high, given that children's accounts are likely to contain only relatively small amounts of money. However, it may be worth considering a regular investment scheme if large sums of money are to be built up with the intention of assisting a child in later life.
