The US is using B-52 bombers to carpet bomb the Taliban front line in northern Afghanistan. It appears that this strategy is designed to pave the way for an offensive by the opposition Northern Alliance. However, Taliban forces remain strong.

Kunduz falls, and a bloody vengeance is executed
Article Abstract:
Kunduz, the Taliban's last stronghold in northern Afghanistan, has fallen to the Northern Alliance. There is evidence that many Taliban fighters were executed. The foreigners who were fighting with them seem to have fled.
