Backpackers are gaining an increasingly negative image. Indeed, a report from the Roehampton Institute indicates that many backpackers have no interest in the traditional culture of the places they visit, preferring to consume large quantities of alcohol and drugs and seek sexual satisfaction. In fact, this is not the case for the majority of backpackers, who are willing to face challenges but not unnaturally sometimes seek familiarity.
