The greatest show on earth
Article Abstract:
There is very strong confidence in the state of the US economy. The living standards of the majority of Americans have steadily improved, while unemployment is the lowest in the developed world and there are high levels of investment. However, there are also signs of economic difficulties. Unqualified workers have seen a slump in real wages, and are having to work harder to maintain their standard of living. Furthermore, there is growing concern that the economic boom must shortly come to an end. A slump will come at some point, but it is likely that the US economy will be able to recover.

Interest rates won't be to blame for this slump
Article Abstract:
There has been a clear trend since the second world war for rising inflation to force central banks to put an end to economic growth because they had to raise interest rates. However, this trend may not be relevant to the current economic climate. Factors that have brought recent economic cycles to an end are not now present, but there are other factors that can bring the current economic cycles in both the UK and the US to an end. It is clear that rising interest rates will not push these economies into recession.
