The not-so-special Superstar
Article Abstract:
Henry Kissinger is Manhatten's most popular statesman. His consultancy firm Kissinger Associates earns about 7.5 million pounds sterling annually for lecturing, writing and advising corporate clients on international affairs. Kissinger's repututation is based on a myth. His foreign policy under Pres Nixon was based on 'superpower diplomacy' and deceit. He had the role of making the US believe that the war had been won. He did this by making South Vietnam responsible for war prosecution and delaying North Vietnam's victory by bombing Cambodia. Kissinger's peace only lasted from 1973 to 1975.

We must fight to save Europe
Article Abstract:
A community such as the European Community (EC) exists to take common action when survival is threatened, as in Bosnia, where Britain and the EC need to decide whether to intervene. Foreign policy based on bothprinciples and interests is relevant in this case. The Serbian leadership should be discouraged from expanding and practising 'ethnic cleansing.' European military action under the auspices of the UN would prevent Communist dictator Slobodan Milosevic continuing to use torture and massacre to achieve his aims.

Late afternoon in America
Article Abstract:
Americans weekly earnings are lower in real terms than they were in the 1960s because of the deline in productivity compared with Europe and the Far East. Job security and social problems concern voters. The country's budget deficit prevents the government from controlling social needs. The divided government with a Republican White House and Democrat Congress is seen as a cause of economic problems.
