The political luck of the youthful pretender
Article Abstract:
Relatively little is known about William Hague, who has become the favourite to win the leadership of the UK Conservative party. It is widely accepted that he is a very talented politician, but he has also benefited from a considerable amount of luck to rise to the top of the Conservative party at the age of only 36. He is very ambitious, and some observers believe that he may have deliberately exploited prevailing political opinion in order to further his career. However, he has also had the courage of his convictions from a very young age.
