The real causes of crime may be easier to fathom than we reckon
Article Abstract:
There is concern that crime may be on the increase in the United Kingdom, and publicity has been given to the theft of very expensive watches in London, England. There are a number of possible explanations for this possible trend, such as an increase in numbers of young males. There is also a large proportion of children living in relative poverty, and inequality is increasing looking at people with the highest incomes compared with the national average. Meanwhile, there is an increasing gap in school achievement comparing the least able children with the average. Inequality could be linked to a reduction in social solidarity and so a rise in the crime rate.

I'm sorry, but I don't care where my food comes from
Article Abstract:
The conflict over the French ban on imports of beef from the UK has highlighted issues relating to whether food items and other consumer goods can be really said to have close links with a particular nationality. In the modern world, brand is important, not a product's origin. Those who simply want good organic food should not be concerned about where it comes from. In fact, a large proportion of the organic produce currently sold in the UK comes from France. Disregarding a product's country of origin should not be seen as unpatriotic.
