This Golden Bear is a honey
Article Abstract:
The fact that Walter Salles' film 'Central Do Brasil' won a Golden Bear at the 1998 Berlin Film Festival marks the beginning of the revival of the Brazilian film industry. This follows a period during which local film production almost came to a complete halt following the closure of the State Film Board in 1992. 'Central Do Brasil' is a modest film which is not immediately appealing, but has great honesty. It confirms Salles' reputation as one of the most talent young filmmakers currently working in Latin America.
