A boy full of life, not just an icon
Article Abstract:
Black teenager Stephen Lawrence, who was murdered in a racist attack in Apr 1993, has become a symbol of injustice towards black communities in the UK. However, it is important to remember that he was also a real person. He was a happy, easy-going young man who was talented at sport and was popular at school. He had both black and white friends, and liked to play jokes. He wanted to become an architect and to set up his own architectural practice.

This man is paid 106,000 pounds sterling a year to stop Britain's youth taking drugs. Is he worth it?
Article Abstract:
UK drugs tsar Keith Hellawell has been criticized by observers who feel that he has failed to become familiar with the detail of his job. He was appointed to this position because of his long-standing interest in drug-related matters and his reputation for innovative thinking. However, his critics feel that he is out of his depth. His deputy, Mike Trace, is regarded as more accessible, more intelligent and more familiar with youth issues.
