Too little, too late: sex education should begin in the nursery
Article Abstract:
Many teachers in the UK are worried that they will attract criticism from parents and the media if they introduce sexual material to children at an early age. However, it is possible to argue that a comprehensive sex education programme is vital if children are to understand the many sexual messages they receive from the media and from friends. Beginning sex education at an early age means that children are more likely to gain a natural understanding of sexual issues, rather than seeing them as something which cannot be discussed.

'Singing together? It's just like playing football.' (choral classes in primary schools)(Education +)
Article Abstract:
Choral classes can have a very positive impact on primary school pupils. Singing breaks down cultural barriers, and is an activity in which almost all pupils can perform well, as long as they receive the proper training. It encourages teamwork and discipline, but is also fun. Children learn to cope with quite complicated music, and this gives them a great sense of achievement. Schools have particularly benefited from working with professional singers.
