Unbundling Bill Gates and why it's so hard
Article Abstract:
Some observers believe that the US Justice Dept is wrong to be taking anti-trust action against Microsoft. They feel that the monopoly held by this company's Windows operating system has been created by the market and does not seem to be causing any damage. However, it is also possible to argue that consumers have no option but to purchase Windows, as almost everyone uses it and most other software is designed to operate on it. Microsoft founder Bill Gates may certainly have been mistaken in judging the strength of opposition to him.

IT's bright future looks assured
Article Abstract:
The information technology (IT) sector has seen mixed performance, with the value of shares in IT companies fluctuating considerably. However, the long-term prospects for IT appear to be extremely good. A large backlog of IT projects has accumulated as a result of IT spending being focused on the year 2000 computer date change problem and preparations for European monetary union, and this means that the IT sector will have contracts a long way into the 21st century.
