You don't have to be mad to work here ... but it helps
Article Abstract:
The Museum of London and the Science Museum are both holding exhibitions to mark the 750th anniversary of Bethlehem Royal Hospital, a lunatic asylum which was incorporated into the Maudesley Hospital in Beckenham, England, in 1948. The Museum of London's exhibition, entitled 'Bedlam: Custody, Care and Cure 1247-1997,' is rather disappointing, indicating that not all knowledge can be made into exhibition. It is more worthwhile visiting the exhibition at the Science Museum, entitled 'Surprising Regions of the Mind.'

Disparate Goya
Article Abstract:
The Brighton Museum and Art Gallery in Brighton, England, is currently exhibiting 18 images from the 1864 edition of the 'Disparates,' Goya's last print series. These seem to lack continuity, with each having a distinct idea. Goya gives the impression of being aware of some terrible secret about human life which he does not tell. The viewer can find no lead in these images, and fails to catch his tone. Sympathy and derision are hinted at, but are always in the wrong places.

Radio 3: a big mistake
Article Abstract:
Radio 3's decision to introduce a show featuring Paul Gambaccini is part of the station's strategy of becoming more 'welcoming.' Top executives believe that Gambaccini, who plays a range of popular classical music, will attract the widest possible audience, and will thus play a key role in the station's survival. However, existing Radio 3 listeners are unhappy about programmes being switched around and about the new focus on the personality of presenters.
