The emergence and growth of the robotics industry and the challenges faced by it are discussed. Research is on to find solutions to problems of robotics such as visual recognition, navigation and machine learning. It is believed that robots or intelligent mobile devices may be available and affordable for consumers with the development of relevant software and easy access to economically viable computer power.
