A study of kerf characteristics in abrasive waterjet machining of graphite/epoxy composite

Article Abstract:

The influence of process parameters on kerf geometry and kerf wall characteristics in abrasive waterjet (AWJ) machining of Gr/Ep composites indicates that mechanisms of material removal do not change over the jet penetration depth. Three macro regions, along the cutting depth, influence the geometrical features associated with AWJ machining. Waviness patterns are formed on the kerf wall due to inadequate cutting energy.

Mathematical modeling of ultra-high-pressure waterjet peening

Article Abstract:

Mathematical modeling of high-pressure waterjet peening was developed to describe the relation between the waterjet peening parameters and the resulting material modification. Results showed the possibility of using the proposed mathematical model to predict an initial range for effective waterjet peening under the variation of waterjet peening conditions.

Effect of nozzle-traveling velocity on oil cavitation jet peening of aluminum alloy, AA 6063-T6

Article Abstract:

Oil cavitation jet peening process at various nozzle-traveling velocities is performed and the effect in aluminum alloy, AA 6063-T6 is presented. The compressive residual stress is used at the peened surface and a work-hardened surface is obtained.
