Absorption of ozone and seven organic pollutants by Populus nigra and Camellia sasanqua
Article Abstract:
Researchers from Tokyo, Japan revealed that the plant seedlings of Populus nigra, a decidous tree, and Camellia sasanqua, the evergreen tree, is effective in absorbing ozone and acrolein pollutants through its plant stomata. C. sasanqua can absorb methyl ethyl ketone but the two plant species cannot absorb acetone, acetronile, isobutyl methyl ketone, chloroform, and benzene.

Absorption of formaldehyde by oleander (Nerium indicum)
Article Abstract:
A new method for measuring the absorption of formaldehyde by Oleander is described. A chamber system inside a temperature-controlled room was used to measure the rate of absorption. The results revealed a variation in the rate of formaldehyde absorption by oleander at different light intensities, with a linear relationship between absorption rate and rate of transpiration.

Intermittent rainfall in dynamic multimedia fate modeling
Article Abstract:
There have been errors in attempts to measure the chemical concentrations of air samples because multimedia models, such as level III fugacity models, assume a steady rainfall. A new modelling approach underscores how intermittent rainfall causes variations in chemical concentrations in the air.
