Accommodation of springback error in channel forming using active binder force control: numerical simulations and experiments
Article Abstract:
The designing of optimal binder force history leads to radical reduction in the level of springback without attaining a critical strain state. It is possible to follow a target punch force history by using a real-time closed-loop control of binder force. The closed-loop control algorithm helps to minimize the part shape error by providing a perfect stretching history. The results of a study using double-action servo-controlled process show that the numerical simulations and active-binder force control method are accurate.

Dominant creep failure process in tensile components
Article Abstract:
The factors that contribute to the occurence of the dominant failure process in structural alloys under various load conditions are studied. The effects of two distinct failure modes, namely the net section creep rupture process and creep crack growth process, on the eventual fracture of a material are evaluated through numerical analysis. Results indicate that the level of macroscopic defect, such as crack, is dependent on the material's ductile properties.
