An empirical study of the adoption and implementation of advanced technologies in the Italian public sector
Article Abstract:
The organizational context, the professionalism of the people involved in its implementation and application and the cultural values prevailing in its environment are crucial factors in the successful implementation and use of a geographic information system in local governments. This was concluded in a study of the process of adoption and implementation of such systems in local governments in Italy. The decision making process and the obstacles to adoption are also described.
