Applicability of capillary electrophoresis with amperometric detection to study degradation of chlorophenols in contaminated soil
Article Abstract:
An amperometric detector that is used in conjunction with a capillary electrophoresis instrument is useful in the analysis of bioremediation and degradation processes. The construction of such a detector, which is capable of detecting chlorophenols at concentrations of 10 ppb, involves the use of gold and silver wire. The detector helped determine that the photodegradation of pentachlorophenol (PCP) in conjunction with titanium dioxide takes seven hours and that PCP oxidation with ceric sulfate takes five minutes.
