Assessment of dry deposition and foliar leaching of mercury and selected trace elements based on washed foliar and surrogate surfaces
Article Abstract:
Researchers from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory performed leaf washing experiments using surrogate Teflon surfaces to simulate atmospheric deposition on leaves, and found that it is the major source of mercury in throughfall and litterfall instead of foliar leaching.

Estimation of mercury emission from coal combustion in China
Article Abstract:
Researchers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences measured the rate of emission of mercury in coal combustion in China. The estimation of the rate was combined with the product of emission factor, coal consumption and concentration of mercury in coals.
