Auguste D. and Alzheimer's disease
Article Abstract:
A 1901 file by German physician Alois Alzheimer concerning a female patient suffering a dementia was recently found in a German psychiatric hospital. Although Alzheimer's disease was later named after the same case study, the file reveals that the patient's dementia was partly due to arteriosclerosis.

Rat study sheds light on cocaine craving

Environmental clues that an cocaine addict associates with the drug act like a small dose of cocaine: they intensify the craving for the drug. Eric Nestler and David Self and their colleagues have discovered evidence working with rats that D1-like neural receptors blocks this priming effect.
