Bromochloromethoxybenzenes in the marine troposphere of the Atlantic Ocean: a group of organohalogens with mixed biogenic and anthropogenic origin
Article Abstract:
A survey of the transport of halogenated methoxybenzenes (anisoles) in the marine troposphere of the Atlantic Ocean showed that the concentration profiles of chloroanisoles and the bromoanisoles were consistent either with a biogenic or anthopogenic origin. The concentration of the chloroanisoles in the norther portion of the Atlantic indicated an anthropogenic origin, while the concentration of bromoanisoles in the southern portion indicated a biogenic origin.

C1-C15 alkyl nitrates, benzyl nitrate, and bifunctional nitrates: measurements in California and South Atlantic air and global comparison using C2Cl4 and CHBr3 as marker molecules
Article Abstract:
C1-C15 alkyl nitrates, perchloroethylene and bromoform measurements in California and South Atlantic sites show that C1-C15 alkyl nitrate levels were lower at the California coast than that on coastal mountains. South Atlantic alkyl nitrates are also found to be marine in origin and that more than or equal to C6 alkyl nitrates in continental air can contribute 1% to 2% in total NOy.
