Optical imaging and control of genetically designated neurons in functioning circuits
Article Abstract:
The biologically grounded approach for sensing and actuation of neuronal function is discussed. The analysis of connectivity, dynamics and plasticity of neuronal circuits is possible with the help of a combination of finely resolved optical field sensing and finely resolved optical field actuation.

Cerebellum-dependent learning: the role of multiple plasticity mechanisms
Article Abstract:
The progress made in understanding the function of the cerebellum in encoding motor memories is described. However studies of simple behaviors such as the vestibulo-ocular-reflex (VOR) indicate that multiple plasticity mechanisms contribute to cerebellum dependent learning.
